We arrived on the 9th of September, 2007 and planned to stay for 7 days. They put us in the crow's nest section which was entirely too small for the number of campers and size campers they had in that section. The mosquitoes were so bad that after 4 days, we had to leave. several other campers were complaining about the campground not utilizing available sites in better areas of the campground for longer term campers. One of the worst experiences I have ever had in a campground. Since it is the only campground on Tybee Island, they can do as they please.

This is a nice campground . Not very big , but neat . We camped next to the river and opened our windows and could hear the running river water all night . We spent most of the time visiting Lake Lure and Chimney Rock . The staff were very friendly and assisted in every way . They had apple trees across from our campsite that we helped ourself to (after asking) . We really enjoyed our stay and would camp there again .

We camped at Lakewood Campground in September 2007. It's, as usual, in our opinion is the best campground at Myrtle Beach . Sites are big and nice . All sites have 30 and 50 amp service . All sites have cable and phone hook ups . The new bath houses and the old remodeled bath houses are always clean . They now have wireless hook ups at the Coffee House for those that do not use dial up . We can't wait till our next trip to Lakewood .

My wife and I camped there in a travel trailer . When we got off the main road , following "Google Map " we made a left turn in to a private driveway . They had placed a sign several feet off the road saying Stop! Google and Map Quest is wrong . So we had to back out on a hill in a curve (not pleasant). When we finally got to the campground we were told to keep our dogs on a leash , but the full time campers just let there dogs and cats run free . The campground was quiet, and pleasant . You had to pay extra to use their showers ,so we just used our own . The staff were helpful and everyone was nice . A good place for a cheap weekend of camping .

Camp Wilderness is a really clean and well ran campground . Easy access to I-77 just south of Charlotte . All sites are paved and wide . They also have a shuttle bus to take to back and forth to the theme park that runs every 30 minutes . A great campground for family's with young children.
